This section contains meet reports written by me about Tia's performances at competitions I have seen her at. I hope you enjoy reading my reports, Tia is an incredible gymnast who deserves some recognition on the internet! :)
2001 Elite Zone Meet-Northstars
Bars- Tia did not compete on bars!
Vault- Two nice vaults with great form!
Beam- Tia had a tough routine and fell three times.
Floor- VERY impressive routine! It was the best routine I have ever seen her do! Her tumbling was amazing and powerful, she landed all her passes solidly, and her dance was great! The routine flowed very well and was incredible.
Tia finished 2nd on floor and 3rd on vault. Good job, Tia!
2001 Elite Zone Meet-Parkettes
Bars- Tia started off her routine great routine going with nice pireoettes and a beautiful release move. Unfortunatly, she went the wrong way in a handstand on the low bar and had some form breaks and a slight hesitation trying to get the routine going again. She finished off with a nice double layout dismount.
Vault- Two very nice, clean vaults for Tia... She did a yurchenko layout for her first vault and a yurchenko layout full for her second vault. She did a great job with only a slight step on each.
Beam- Tia has a routine PACKED with difficulty! Such as...front handspring punch front mount, front aerial, backhandspring back tuck, punch front, doouble tuck dismount...and more! She fell once in her routine on her back tuckand was a little shaky on some other elements but had a good routine.
Floor- Tia is sooooo powerful! She opened with a double front, her second pass was a full twisting double back, her third pass was a front double twist, and she finsihed with a 2 1/2 twist into a front layout. However, she went out of bounds 3 times but besides that had a VERY impressive routine!
Tia finished second in the meet with a 33.80. (her teammate Brooke Borso won) Keep in mind how tough the new code is!
2001 Magical Classic
Bars- Tia had a REALLY nice routine and came in 1st place! She caught her release move beautifully and had a nice, clean routine.
Beam- Tia has a very difficult routine but unfortunatly fell twice (mount and punchfront).
Floor- Boy can Tia tumble!! Tia put her hands down on her first pass though (full twisting double pike) and watered down some of her passes but the rest of her routine was very solid!
Vault- She did two very nice vaults! (Yurchenko layout and yurchenko layout full) Tia had nice height and distance from the vault and great form.
2001 Parkette Invitational
Vault- Too nice vaults for Tia but a big bounce on the landing of both of them! Too much power! :) She did a yurchenko layout and yurchenko full.
Bars- Tia had a SCARY fall on her Khorkina release move, I am thankful she didn't get hurt! Besides the fall, Tia got back on track quickly and finished up nicely.
Beam- Tia had one fall.
Floor- EXCELLANT routine! A lot of power in her tumbling passes, GREAT dance, and the routine flowed very well. 9.750!! :)
